Indonesia is one of the world's largest producers of copper and gold. The Grasberg mine, located deep in the Sudirman Mountains of Mimika Regency, Central Papua, stands at an elevation of over 4,200 meters — making it the planet's largest gold reserve and second-largest copper reserve.   3. Wind resistance: All modules use reinforced steel frame structures with dual anchoring (anchor bolts + concrete foundations) to withstand high-altitude wind loads.
  4. Moisture and corrosion protection: Steel structures receive hot-dip galvanizing plus epoxy zinc-rich primer dual anti-corrosion treatment. Wall panels use anti-corrosion sandwich panels, and flooring uses SPC waterproof flooring — adapted for high-humidity environments.
  5. Ventilation system: Each dormitory is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system to ensure adequate air circulation in the low-oxygen high-altitude environment.

Logistics & Transport

Goods were shipped from Shanghai Port to Surabaya, Indonesia for transshipment, then onward to Amamapare Port (Freeport's dedicated port). From there, materials traveled approximately 100 km via the mining company's private road, climbing through multiple elevation bands to reach the camp site.
