Background

Kazakhstan is one of the largest mineral resource countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, ranking 11th globally in copper reserves and 8th in gold reserves. As gold-copper mining projects accelerate across the country, the demand for worker accommodation in remote mining areas has surged.

This project is located in the Zaisan ore zone in eastern Kazakhstan, part of a newly developed gold-copper integrated mining operation. The mining site sits approximately 200 km from the nearest town, with no existing accommodation facilities nearby. The owner needed a fully functional camp for 300 workers operational before production commencement.

  • Upgraded wall panels: 100mm polyurethane sandwich panels (thermal conductivity less than or equal 0.024 W/(m.K)) - over 3x the insulation performance of standard 50mm EPS panels
  • Full-envelope insulation: Roof and floor insulation thickened equally, eliminating thermal bridges
  • Triple-glazed windows: Thermal break aluminum frames with triple-layer laminated glass
  • Frost-proof foundation: 50mm stone slab base, modules raised at least 30 cm above ground to prevent frost heave damage

2. Flat-Pack Logistics Advantage

The logistics route from China to Kazakhstan exits through the Alashankou border port, enters Kazakhstan via Dostyk, and travels approximately 800 km to the East Kazakhstan mining zone. Flat-packing allows a single 40-foot high-cube container to carry significantly more module units, substantially reducing transportation costs.

3. Fast Installation, No Heavy Machinery

All modules use bolted connections - no welding required. A 10-person on-site installation team can complete all 80 modules in just two weeks.
